Society Announcements

Our primary announcement is that we are in the planning stages of an Eynon reunion/organizational/social gathering in Aberystwyth, Wales in the July/August of 2000. We have picked this location for the benefit of those members who wish to combine research with socializing. The National Library of Wales, located in Aberystwyth, is the central repository for parish registers, census records, wills and other research material which makes it the main research center for family historians.

Aberystwyth, located on the west coast of Wales, is also a beautiful seaside town that because of its central location offers the possibility of side trips to Haverfordwest (another record office), and the Glamorgan record office in Swansea.

We will try to help as much as possible to those overseas visitors in locating accommodations, so please inform us as early as possible if you are thinking of joining us. We would like to hold a social gathering sometime in the month of August for those visitors whose time is limited, so please inform us early enough of your desire to join us.

Depending upon demand, we are tentatively planning on holding an informal 2-3 day seminar on Eynon records located in the library. This promises to be an educational opportunity as well as an enjoyable gathering. Please contact the officers of the EFHS for more details on the dates.

Our primary research concern for this summer trip will be the transcription of Eynon references in the Parish Registers and Bishop's Transcripts for the "Rhos Hundred" which includes the following parishes:

Steynton Walton West Camrose
Haroldston West Burton Roch
Dale Nolton Freystrop
Hubberston Hasguard Haverfordwest (St. Martin)
Llanstadwell Herbranston Haverfordwest (St. Mary)
Llangwm Johnston Haverfordwest (St. Thomas)
Lambston Talbenny Walton West
Marloes Robeston West Haroldston St. Issells
Rosemarket St. Brides Walwyn's Castle

Parishes of the Rhos Hundred

Everyone who is interested is invited to join in and contribute their efforts to this this research project which will help in our greater understanding of the Eynon families in South Wales.

We are looking forward to seeing you there!!
